Philippians 2: 1-2
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
Living in community is WILD y’all! It crazy, and it’s fun, and it’s hard, and it’s beautiful. Let me introduce my squad and then I will tell you about where I am at on my journey.
First we have Whitney. She is kind, strong, and wise. Next, there is Shelby. Shelby has such a servants heart, and she encourages her brothers and sisters so well. Addi, Addi, Addi! She is a bold voice, and a kind presence. Sweet Toni. What a wise man who shows up humbly. Alex Van! He is so fun, and he gently comes to encourage those around him. Next up we have Jared. Jared loves people around him so well and always treats us as family. Cyntya! My sister is so humble and she is attentive to where the Spirit is leading. Lovely Sunshine. She has the sweetest spirit that simply exudes joy to all those who come in contact with her. Alex K (yes we have two hehe). Alex has such a servants heart that is so humble. Next up is my girl Sierra. She is gentle, peaceful and she brings light to every room she is in. Amanda Ruth! This fun friend is so empathetic and she truly has a heart to hear the praises and the hurt from her brothers and sisters. And last, we have Becca. She is so strong and steadfast and cares so deeply.
I absolutely adore these humans. In the short time we have been together we have encouraged each other, we have walked in the hard with each other, and we have rejoiced in the victories with one another.
Living in community, without the safety of your own room or space, you begin to see your own flaws in some not great ways, and you learn what it looks like to come humbly and truly live as the church. As we come together, learn more about one another, and press into encouraging each other, my prayer is that from Philippians 2. That we will be of the same mind (the Fathers mind), the same love (the love of Christ), and in full accord with one another (in accordance with the Spirit).
We are currently in Gainesville, GA, being trained in the word of God and the cultures of those we are entering. On The 19th, we will be flying to Medellin, Columbia, to work with an organization called Ciudad Refugio. Even thought we don’t know the ins and outs of how we will be serving, Ciudad has several capacities to serve in and blesses the community of Medellin in many many ways. We will be based there for 60 days, and then be off the see where the Lord will place us next.
As I prepare to leave the country in FOUR DAYS, I am so so excited to see what the Lord has for us in Medellin and beyond this year. I’m so grateful to be here and be doing the thing, and that is because of God working through people like you. So THANK YOU for allowing the Lord to work and making it possible for me to be following the call He’s has placed on my life.
